Magnum: tutti i dettagli di The Serpent Rings

Il chitarrista dei Magnum, Tony Clarkin, è un uomo che sembra non smettere mai di lavorare. E’ ad oggi il responsabile della scrittura di tutto il materiale pubblicato dalla band e, in aggiunta, produce gli album dal primo demo al mix finale. “Appena finito l’album, inizio a raccogliere nuove idee”, spiega il musicista. “E’ così che ho lavorato fin dai primi anni Settanta; per me questo è il metodo ideale”.

E nel prossimo disco, The Serpent Rings, i Magnum dimostrano ancora una volta quanto perfettamente funzioni questo sistema rodato. Il gruppo ha registrato 11 nuove canzoni che presentano tutti i punti di forza tradizionali dello storico act britannico e che permettono allo stesso tempo di esplorare una direzione più orientata al Rock.

The Serpent Rings è stato registrato da Clarkin, dal leggendario vocalist Bob Catley, dal tastierista Rick Benton e dal batterista Lee Morris, oltre all’ultima aggiunta, il noto bassista Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69, Place Vendome, Unisonic, tra gli altri), che si è unito per sostituire Al Barrow.

Il full-length vede oggi l’arrivo del primo teaser, che potete ascoltare qui sotto, mentre l’uscita ufficiale è programmata per il 17 Gennaio 2020 via SPV/Steamhammer come CD digipak, versione 2LP gatefold, cofanetto limitato, download e streaming.

Il principale Tour europeo dei Magnum è programmato per cominciare a Marzo 2020 (due appuntamenti anche in Italia), inizialmente con una serie di spettacoli da headliner, che saranno continuati da una successiva serie di date assieme agli svizzeri Gotthard.
